ISGA National Senior Plate Finals

Three of our golfers left the blue skies of School House at 7.00am to arrive at Magnolia Park Golf Club, Buckinghamshire in thick cloud and moorland-like heavy rain!

Conditions were always going to be challenging for Connor Owen, Rhys Edkins and Daniel Haycocks, but they warmed up in great spirit and were un-phased by the depth of talent in the senior national final. This huge championship course sits high above the plains of Buckinghamshire, but the scenic setting did not disguise the degree of difficulty. Not only were there long narrow fairways laden with bunkers and lakes, but there was also unforgiving rough made of foot long sodden grass.

The three boys played inspiring golf, and their heads remained high even on the odd occasion when things got tough.

Daniel Haycocks

Posting a team score of 91 was an amazing feat although they couldn’t quite catch Oakham School who won with a combined score of 106.

Congratulations boys. Your time will undoubtedly come.
