GCSE Results 2019
We are celebrating another set of fabulous GCSE results this year. A quarter of papers were graded in the A*-A/9-7 bracket with an impressive 86% of papers being awarded A*-C or 9-4.
And yet more pleasing is the number of high achieving pupils. Notable individual performances included: local pupils, Dan Counter, Sam Freeman, Rachel Roberts and Anna Warner as well as Pasika Taychaburapanone (from Thailand). Across the 51-strong year group there were many more stories of individual success.
The Headmaster said, ‘I am delighted and proud. Our best set of results for many a year are especially notable given the move to the challenging reformed qualifications. Our pupils have worked incredibly hard and deserve their success. Examination results are well above the national average and impressive for a genuinely non-selective school; a clear demonstration of the truly great teaching on offer at Oswestry School.
I look forward to welcoming the vast majority of these pupils into our Sixth Form which, as with the School overall, continues to grow in size and reputation.’
