Bronze Award for services to the Armed Forces
Having signed the Armed Forces Covenant earlier in the year we are keen to increase our support of the armed forces community. With the recommendation of Philip Sinclair, the Regional Employer Engagement Director for the West Midlands, we have now received a Bronze Award in recognition of our supportive efforts.
The Awards form part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) and they encourage employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. As a Bronze Award holder we have pledged support to the armed forces through existing or prospective employees. The School is actively forces-friendly and are open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses or partners.
The Headmaster commented, “The armed forces have always played a special role in Oswestry School’s history and I am proud that our efforts to assist the community have been recognised. However, there is always more that we can do and we hope to increase our support over the coming year.”
