Enterprise Day 2017
The annual Enterprise Day is run by the Business Faculty for 3rd Form pupils. The aim of the day was to introduce the students to the world of business and to develop their entrepreneurial, problem solving, presentation and team working skills.
Pupils attended seminars run by our own Sixth Form Business students and took part in numerous workshops enabling them to take a product through from conception to launch. Ideas were then pitched to our very own panel of Oswestrian Dragons (Dr Jefferis, Mrs Evans, Miss Bucknall and Mr Williams).
Best Business Idea was presented to Studs (Beth Ebrey, Carmen Pons Pieras, Noah Kynaston-Evans, Cameron Griffith Norris, Hayato Mimura and Luke Gambroudes) with their winning idea of a multi-use trainer - a trainer that could be converted into football boots, golfing shoes etc. just with the switch of a sole! Their catching slogan 'Switch it up' completed the package.
Four Fruits (Katy Scott, Ryan Witt, Josh Garvey, Connor Greenwood and Jamie Martin) won the Best Team with their innovative take on a healthy fruit drink. The dragons were really impressed with how the team had worked together and had planned and organised their pitch. They had created an effective, eye catching logo and devised two slogans - 'Rethink your drink' to appeal to parents and 'Turn it, Flick it, Drink it!' targeting the young consumers.
Winning pitch was awarded to Lidon (Grace Edwards, Rachel Roberts, Sam Freeman, Parsa Sobhani, Katherine Wong and Sasha Lytkin) whose product - a one size fits all travel lid - and organised professional pitch won the hearts of the dragons. Their slogan 'Any size, Any Time, Any Place' highlighted the many uses of this product.
