Oswestry School marks the New Year with a donation to Hope House
January may be a month of cutbacks for many, but for our pupils the New Year began with a generous donation of £2,279.65 to local charity Hope House.
Hope House was the school’s designated charity this for Michaelmas term and pupils found different ways to raise the final figure. Just over half the donation originated from the Christmas Enterprise Fair held by pupils for staff, parents and friends of the school while the remainder derived from fundraising events including a ‘home’ clothes day and a raffle on Founder’s Day.
The cheque was presented to Hope House representative, Lynsey Kilvert, who commented, “It’s wonderful to receive donations like this. The children’s fundraising efforts mean so much to everyone at Hope House and without this support we would not be able to provide much needed assistance to families who rely on us”.
