Formula 1 Engineering
A group of thirty students, parents and grandparents have been treated to a talk from Ed Bellamy, an engineer from the Force India F1 team. Ed talked about how he became an Engineer; from his A level choices to work experience and a degree in mechanical engineering.
As an engineer on the cooling systems for the Force India cars Ed then went on to discuss his role in the F1 journey from rules provided by the governing body to design, manufacture, testing and on to race day. Ed's talk was enlightening and gave our students plenty to think about.
This talk was a precursor to the Engineering Conference on the 10th November and is the first in the year's series of Science Society lectures - the next one being on the 1st December.
