Young business students visit Starbucks
Sixth Form pupils studying Business recently listened to a talk given by Old Oswestrian and Managing Director, Dan Munford, from Insight Research on Euro Garages, the UK’s fastest growing forecourt operator.
Pupils learnt how Euro Garages have achieved unprecedented growth and the importance of their brand partners including Starbucks, Subway, Burger King and Greggs in establishing their forecourts as retail destinations. Following the talk the pupils visited Starbucks at Mile End, Oswestry, which Euro Garages operate as a franchise, and spoke to the manager on a wide range of issues from recruitment, training and motivation to upselling and Starbucks’ own MUG awards (Moves of Uncommon Greatness).
Upper Sixth pupil and deputy Head Boy, Joey Marks, said, “The talk and visit was a great experience that emphasised the importance of implementing theories and topics learnt in the classroom into the real business world that everyone could relate to”.
