Water Aid Day

Bellan House has held a Water Aid day, after Year 1 pupil, Betty Barr, saw an advert on television for the charity and wanted to do something to help.  So, with the support of pupils and staff, she arranged a charity fundraising day at school.  Pupils had an 'own clothes day', wearing something blue, and as well as lots of learning activities in the classroom, the Year 6 pupils ran a number of water-based stalls and activities outside, including the impossible 'balance a coin on a lemon' challenge!  Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Tidridge for coming in to speak in assembly - the pupils found their talk informative, educational and inspiring.  The day was a huge success, raising enough money to pay for 17 new wells.
