Founder's Day 2019
Founder's Day was another roaring success on the 612th year since the school was founded by David Holbache. Following the service in St Oswald's with guest speaker The Revd James Kennedy celebrations moved back to school and began with netball in the Momentum Hall.
Record numbers of OOs turned out to play and fielded an A and a B team vs the School. The OOs took victory in both matches.
From here the action moved to the Maes-y-Llan where the Bog Run was next to be contested. The wintery weather we had seen in the previous weeks had formed a most pleasing bog in the lower field with runners losing trainers in the quagmire! School turnout was extremely high for this fun event and, unsurprisingly, school took the trophy.
As the afternoon wore on hockey was played on the astro and two football teams were fielded on the pitches. As the wind and chill began to bite school saw two more victories against their OO opponents. To see more photos of the day please click here.
After a quick turnaround in the showers everyone headed to Wilsons for pre-dinner drinks. The Christmas spirit was strong as old and new OOs mingled together, catching up and reliving younger days. The dinner was much enjoyed by all. To see more photos from the dinner please click here.
